Since 10 years ago in El Salvador a program has been giving a great opportunity for young Salvadoreans and it is called ¡Superate!. This idea was born in the year 2000 with Mr Ricardo Sagrera Bogle and his family, they  created Sagrera Palomo foundation. After several years analyzing education projects, Mr Ricardo alongside a team of Hilasal group identified a special opportunity to serve as a bridge between young people of scarce resources from public schools and employment opportunities. In that moment El Salvador was growing thanks to foreign investment through the establishment of different industries and service companies (rather call centers), who needed to hire young people who speak English and handle computer tools: were specific competences which were very difficult to find in at that time.

The ¡Superate! centers

The first center created in El Salvador was the center ¡Superate! Hilassal in 2004 with the help of the foundation Sagrera Palomo, the social commitment of the industry Hilassal and the help of Microsoft El Salvador. For the year 2008 as a whole to the Foundation ADOC and Microsoft created the Center ¡Superate! ADOC, and that same year also with the help of the CASSA (Compañia azucarera de El Salvador) was created the Center ¡Superate! CASSA Sonsonate. For the year 2009 thanks to the great commitment of CASSA and the great support of Microsoft El Salvador which had so far donated all licenses dealing to teach young people the use of computer tools, opened its second Center with his name in San Miguel with the name of Center ¡Superate! CASSA San Miguel.

How does superate help students?

Superate has a very good logo it says "transforming lives Through education" and that is true because superate help students from public school, or who they dont have a lot of possibilities to continue study. ¡Superate! gives them the tools that they will need for getting a job, for helping their families and for transforming El Salvador, but the most important thing is that the students have been growing no only them but also people around them. with the help that ¡Superate! gives them, some of them get a scholarship to study in the university that they want, and in some cases with the help of the US Embassy in ¡Superate! gives differentes programas like:  English Access Microscholarship Program and Youth Ambassadors.

When the year start each center is with new students like me but three years ago; at the begiging  I did not know anything about english thus was very difficult for me to adapt, Also I remember that I cannot use a computer even turn on or off it, But with the patience of my teachers and the help that the gave me, now I can say that I have been learning a lot of thing but most of all ¡Superate! no only transforming my life, but also It changes my future. In evey moment of my life I will remember two quotes by Don Ricardo Sagrera who said:"raise the bar", "Walk the extra mile" .
